Steve is also the author and illustrator of many children’s books. Previously, Steve worked as a full-time editorial cartoonist at Asbury Park Press from 1996 to 2001. His comic strip Grand Avenue, which is syndicated by United Feature Syndicate and is seen in over 150 newspapers across the nation, became launched in 1999. In 2005, Steve’s workmate Mike Thompson came on board to assist write the strip, and in 2009 became the official co-creator.
