Steve Breen (Full Name: Stephen Paul Breen) is a popular American nationally syndicated editorial cartoonist for the San Diego Union-Tribune since 2001. He received the Pulitzer Prize due to his Editorial Cartooning two times, in 1998 and 2009.
Steve is also the author and illustrator of many children’s books. Previously, Steve worked as a full-time editorial cartoonist at Asbury Park Press from 1996 to 2001. His comic strip Grand Avenue, which is syndicated by United Feature Syndicate and is seen in over 150 newspapers across the nation, became launched in 1999. In 2005, Steve’s workmate Mike Thompson came on board to assist write the strip, and in 2009 became the official co-creator.
