She worked at WCAU-TV in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, from March 2017 until December 2019. Tammie is one of a handful of women nationwide that holds both the prestigious AMS/CBM Seal and the NWA Seal. She sits on the boards of both the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association.

When Tammie’s son Caleb Hendricks was 8 years old, he started having terrible headaches. Then, he started having problems with his vision. Caleb was seen by doctors several times, but because he was otherwise healthy, these issues were assumed to be minor illnesses. Later, he was diagnosed with grade 1 glioma and was scheduled for surgery.
Tammie credits the power of prayer and an amazing pediatric neurosurgeon with saving Caleb’s life. Caleb is now five years out from his brain surgery and has no side effects from his tumor. Tammie is a partner at Alex Scott: A Stand For Hope Telethon that raises money and awareness in the fight against childhood cancer.

In March 2017, Tammie joined Comcast-NBC-owned WCAU | NBC 10 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her last day at WCAU was December 6, 2019. She commenced her career as the morning and noon meteorologist at KHSL in Chico, California.
Tammie then became chief meteorologist at WDJT in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She later moved to Chicago, where she worked six years at WMAQ, and two years at WTSP in Tampa, Florida.
