Steve’s family came back to Texas before his second birthday, and he grew up primarily in the San Antonio area. He also has a sister named Stacey Earle who also serves as a musician and songwriter.

He is the singer of the song Guitar Town” which is a song about being a road musician, and it’s filled with references to motel rooms, too several cigarettes, driving all night to the next gig, and the rush of live performances. This song is Steve’s first track on his first launch album, Guitar Town. Together with “Copperhead Road”, “Guitar Town” is one of his two tracks that made the Country charts.
