She was diagnosed with early-stage pancreatic cancer in July 2022. On July 12, 2022, Ruschell started her chemo to treat cancer. She announced the heartbreaking news via her Instagram account on the same day she started her chemo. Ruschell said that she experienced a lot of highs and lows in the last few months and the doctor’s confirmation that she had cancer was a tough one. Doctors discovered the tumor on her pancreas a few weeks before she started the chemo.
It became a whirlwind ever since. On her first day of chemo, Ruschell said that it was the start of a new beginning. She admitted that she lost her trademark smile over for a few weeks, but she regained it after she was assured that all would be well. She felt scared but very upbeat. “It’s going to be a long hard road, but it’s filled with a lot of positives and a good prognosis, that I will share later. I am very lucky this was caught early”. She wrote on Instagram
Her family, friends, and colleagues have been amazing and she can’t thank them enough. Ruschell works at an incredible place with incredible people. She thanked everybody for always supporting and rooting for her. “I’ll take some prayers too on this one. A special thank you to my husband who has been up and down with me around the clock” she added.
