Nelson was a news anchor and reporter for Channel 7 Eyewitness News of WABC-TV. He commenced his career as a morning news anchor and reporter for WWL-TV in New Orleans.
Previously, Nelson used to work at ABC where he joined officially on 12th July 2010. He was the co-anchor of overnight news programs such as America This Morning and World News Now. On 15th March of 2013, he left the ABC.
