Ray Cortopassi is an American anchor and reporter. He currently serves as an anchor at WGN. Ray anchors WGN News; at 5 pm, 6 pm, and WGN News at Nine and Ten. He also reports on issues, events, and people. Ray joined the station’s news team in September of 2020.
Prior to that, he worked for the FOX59 News team in 2009. Ray is also the co-founder of a community theatre known as Off-Main Street Players, in Zionsville, Ind. Ray is the managing director of the theatre. He as well serves as the executive director of the chamber of Commerce a role that he assumed from 2008 until 2011.
Prior to moving to Indianapolis, Ray served as an anchor and reporter at TV stations based in Traverse City, Michigan, and Las Vegas, Nevada. He won Emmy and Associated Press awards while in Indianapolis. Additionally, he hosts a weekday morning show on WTTS that airs on 92.3FM.
