Noel Fitzpatrick is an Irish veterinary surgeon. He is based in Eashing, Surrey. Noel rose to prominence through the television program called The Supervet. He is originally from Ballyfin, in Laois, Ireland, but moved to Guildford, Surrey, in 1993.
Noel serves as the director and managing clinician at Fitzpatrick Referrals. His veterinary practice includes two hospitals specializing in orthopedics as well as neurosurgery in Eashing, Surrey. He has another specializing in oncology and soft tissue surgery in Guildford. Noel serves as the director of a number of biotechnology companies spun off from his practice.
He became the first veterinary surgeon in the world who successfully applied an amputation prosthesis (PerFiTS to a cat named Oscar in 2009. Oscar had lost both hind feet in an accident. In 2014, Noel was recognized by Guinness World Records for becoming the first veterinary surgeon to conduct that operation.

On the evening of September 18, 2020, Noel left his office with his dog Keira, his 13-year-old border terrier, and his constant companion. Noel has a cat called Ricochet. The pair were walking the 25 feet to his car when a delivery van came round the corner, the driver evidently seeing neither of them. Noel tried to pull Keira to safety, but it was too late.
Just below his office window, leaning over the dog skeleton on the sill. He was halfway across that driveway, between a black thing and his car, and he came a bazillion miles an hour from the left. Noel was feet away from the front tyre when he heard Keira’s body explode. He could not come to terms with it. Fortunately, Keira was at the back door of a world-class. She was whisked into surgery within minutes. Once she was stabilized, noel performed a further operation in an attempt to save the dog’s shattered pelvis.

Apart from his veterinary career, Noel has a keen interest in acting. He has been cast as vet Andrew Lawrence in two episodes of ITV’s Heartbeat, first broadcast in November 2002. Also, he has been cast as a sheep rustler Gabriel broadcast in January 2000. Noel appeared in an episode of the BBC medical drama Casualty in 2005. He appeared in the documentary TV series Wildlife SOS around the same time.
The BBC received complaints that the latter show included an actor who pretended to be a vet. Noel appeared in the ITV series London’s Burning in 2001 and two episodes of ITV’s The Bill.
