Nigel Farage Family
He was born to his parents, Barbara (née Stevens) and Guy Justus Oscar Farage in Farnborough, Kent, England. Nigel’s father was a stockbroker who worked in the City of London. In 2012, a BBC Radio 4 profile described Guy Farage as an alcoholic who left the family home when Nigel was five years old. Guy gave up alcohol two years later, in 1971. He then entered the antique trade after he lost his Stock Exchange position. He returned to the trading floor at the new Stock Exchange Tower on Threadneedle Street the following year after he was endorsed by a friend.
Nigel’s grandfather, Harry Farage, was a private. He fought and was wounded in the First World War. Some research suggests that the Farage name comes from a distant Huguenot ancestor. Both parents of one of Nigel’s great-grandfathers were German and emigrated to London from the Frankfurt area shortly after 1861. Nigel’s German ancestor Nicholas Schrod was mentioned in the papers in 1870 in connection with a dispute between two men over the Franco-Prussian War.
Nigel Farage Wife
He has been married twice. He married Irish nurse Gráinne Hayes from 1988 to 1997. The duo shares two children: Samuel who was born in 1989 and Thomas who was born in 1991. He married Kirsten Mehr, a German national, in 1999. The couple has two children. Nigel said in April 2018 that the children have both British and German passports and that they speak “perfect German”. He has spoken of how his children have been teased because of their relation to him.
Nigel has made reference to his German wife in response to criticisms that he is “anti-Europe.” Nigel himself says he is merely anti-EU. He employed his wife Kirsten as his parliamentary secretary. In April 2014, he said that “nobody else could do that job”. Kristen told the Press Association in February 2017, that they were living “separate lives” and that Nigel had “moved out of the family home a while ago”. Nigel described himself as “53, separated, skint” in a BBC interview with Rachel Johnson in May 2017. He cited 20 years of campaigning as the reason for both. Nigel lives in Single Street, a hamlet in the London Borough of Bromley, “around the corner from his mother”.
Nigel Farage Education
He attended Dulwich College from 1975 to 1982. This was a fee-paying independent school in south London. In his autobiography, Nigel pays tribute to the career advice he received in school from England Test cricketer John Dewes. Nigel was active in the Conservative Party from his school days. He had seen a visit to his school by Enoch Powell and Keith Joseph. An English teacher called Chloe Deakin, who had not met the 17-year-old Nigel, wrote to the headmaster of Dulwich College, David Emms in 1981 asking him to reconsider his decision to appoint Nigel as a prefect.
Chloe cited concerns expressed by others over Nigel’s alleged ‘fascist’ views. However, David rejected those concerns, as did the College’s deputy headmaster, Terry Walsh, who said later that Nigel” was well-known for provoking people, especially left-wing English teachers who had no sense of humor.” Later, Nigel stated that some teachers were hostile to him because he was an admirer of Enoch Powell. He said: “Any accusation I was ever involved in far-right politics is utterly untrue.”
Nigel Farage Plane Crash
The morning of the election on May 6, 2010, Nigel was traveling in a two-seater PZL-104 Wilga aircraft with a pro-UKIP banner attached when the plane crashed. He suffered injuries that were described as non-life-threatening. It was revealed that his sternum and ribs were broken and his lung was punctured although his injuries were originally described as minor.
According to The Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB), the airplane was towing a banner, which caught in the tailplane, forcing the nose down. Nigel is a keen cricket fan and has appeared on Test Match Special. However, due to spinal injuries since the plane crash, he cannot play golf. Nigel appeared in an advertisement for the bookmaker Paddy Power ahead of golf’s 2014 Ryder Cup.
Nigel Farage Cameo | Meme
He has been making videos on the Cameo platform. Nigel has fallen victim to several pranks and memes intended to make him refer to various Irish republican slogans. He launched the Vote Power Not Poverty campaign in an effort to secure a referendum on Johnson’s government’s pledge to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050. Nigel introduced a range of three gins made in Cornwall in September 2022. He tweeted on September 23, 2022, that the Conservative Party’s budget was its best since 1986.
Nigel Farage Up The Ra
In October 2021, Nigel was duped into ending a paid-for birthday greeting by saying “Up the ‘Ra!” In early 2021, Nigel joined Cameo, a video-sharing platform through which he offers to record personal messages for members of the public in return for a fee of €87. According to Nigel, he rejected any unsuitable messages although that one sometimes slips through the screening process. He told MailOnline: “If I saw ‘Up the ’Ra!’ I would have looked at that as something very innocent, and wouldn’t have even known there was an implication to it.

He posted a picture from the US on June 20, 2020, and was later spotted at the Trump rally, taking part in a “Team Trump on Tour” panel discussion. Also, Nigel appeared in the audiences of rallies in states such as Michigan and Pennsylvania. Trump called him “one of the most powerful men in Europe” during an Arizona rally on October 29. He invited Nigel to speak on the stage, where he described Trump as the “most resilient and brave person” he had ever met.
After the day of the election, Nigel conceded that Trump lost “fair and square.” However, he added that “Donald Trump loses the odd battle, but he doesn’t lose wars. He keeps fighting until he wins them”. Nigel undertook a six-week tour of the United States in 2021 organized by the conservative group FreedomWorks. The tour which they called America’s Comeback Tour saw Nigel address Republican grassroots audiences across the country.
Nigel Farage On Ukraine | Ukraine
On February 24, 2022, Nigel said that the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine was a consequence of EU and NATO expansion. The invasion came to a head in 2014 and made no sense to poke the Russian bear with a stick. “These are dark days for Europe” he added. Nigel’s remarks led some commentators to compare him to the pro-Hitler broadcaster and propagandist of the 1940s Lord Haw-Haw. Lord was subsequently tried and convicted of treason.
Nigel Farage Brexit | UKIP
UKIP secured over 3.8 million votes and 12.6% of the total vote in the 2015 general election. The party replaced the Liberal Democrats as the third most popular party. However, it secured only one seat. Nigel announced his resignation after he lost the South Thanet seat, but his resignation was rejected and he remained as the leader. In 2016, he became a prominent figure in the successful campaign for Brexit in the EU membership referendum. He resigned as leader of UKIP after the vote to leave the EU.
His resignation triggered a leadership election but remained as an MEP. Nigel stood down from UKIP in December 2018. The following year, he returned to frontline politics by launching the Brexit Party. He drew support from those frustrated with the delayed implementation of Brexit by Theresa May’s government. In the May 2019 European elections, the Brexit Party won the most votes and became the largest single party in the European Parliament.
Nigel Farage Putin | Russia
In the 2016 presidential election, Nigel was listed as a person of interest by the FBI in their investigation into possible Russian interference. He responded by saying that the hysterical attempt to associate him with the Putin regime was a result of the liberal elite’s unable to accept Brexit and the election of President Trump. “I consider it extremely doubtful that I could be a person of interest to the FBI as I have no connections to Russia.” He added. In 2014, Nigel was asked which leaders he admired and he said “As an operator, but not as a human being, I would say Putin.”
Nigel said that the way Putin played the whole Syria thing was Brilliant though he did not approve of him politically. Nigel has criticized what he sees as EU militarism agitating western Ukrainians against Russia. In late 2015, he said that the European Union, and the West, view Putin as the devil. They want to view Putin as the devil. “I’m not saying I want take him around for tea and meet mum on Sunday afternoon … But the point is, on this bigger overall battle [against ISIS in Syria] we need to start recognizing we’re on the same side”. He added.
