Ned Colletti ( Full name: Ned Louis Colletti Jr.) is an American former sports executive and author. He is a three-time Emmy Award-winning baseball analyst who serves as a professor of Sports Administration at Pepperdine University. Also, Ned served as the scout for the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League. Before that, Ned served as the general manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers from 2006 until 2014.
Ned was an analyst for the Dodgers studio show on Spectrum SportsNet LA from 2006 through 2014. Prior to moving to the Dodgers, he worked as an assistant general manager of the San Francisco Giants. Ned is one of the very few American sports executives who worked in two major sports i.e Major League Baseball and the National Hockey League as well. In 1990, he was honored with Major League Baseball’s Robert O. Fishel Award for Public Relations Excellence.
Ned started his Major League career in 1982 with the Chicago Cubs. In 1984 and 1989 when the front office won the National League East, Ned was a club member. However, he left the Cubs and joined the front office of the San Francisco Giants as director of baseball operations in 1994.
In October 1996, Ned was promoted to assistant general manager. The Giants had an 813–644 overall record (.558), winning an average of 90.3 games per season during Ned’s tenure. He joined the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2005 and worked there until 2014. During his tenure with the Dodgers, Ned had the highest winning percentage of any general manager in the National League. He became a professional scout in the Sharks organization in 2019. In 2015, Ned was inducted into the National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame and inducted into the Chicago Sports Hall of Fame in 2021.

Ned was removed from his position as General Manager of the Dodgers on October 14, 2014, after the Dodgers failed to advance to the World Series.
