Mike Locksley ( Michael Anthony Locksley ) is a well-known American football coach who has been working for the University of Maryland as the head football coach since 2019. He has also worked in various college football squads as an assistant coach.
In addition, Mike worked for the University of New Mexico as the head football coach in 2009 and later returned to Maryland as an offensive coordinator in 2011 following his firing from New Mexico. He was later named to the additional post of recruiting coordinator by Vanderlinden replacing Chris Cosh who left in February 1998 to work as the defensive coordinator at Michigan State University. Ralph Friedgen was named head coach in 2000 after Vanderlinden was fired and Mike along with wide receivers coach James Franklin were the only two assistants retained by Maryland.

He later returned to the University of Maryland on December 22, 2011, to join Randy Edsall’s staff where he served as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. Mike later became the interim head coach at Maryland following Edsall’s termination on October 11, 2015.
He returned to Maryland for the third time on December 4, 2018, and was named head football coach for the Maryland Terrapins. As a result, Mike became the 21st full-time head coach in the program’s history. He has been serving as the head coach since December 4, 2018.
