The main anchor Emmett Miller, who had held the main anchor post following the death of Hal Fishman, was taken to the Morning News, clearing the way for Micah. He has anchored extensive live coverage of many major stories Southern California has seen over the past many years.
Micah was also live on the air in the anchor desk as the magnitude 5.5 Chino earthquake struck in July 2008. He traveled in 2005 to Vietnam, following two Los Angeles residents who were among many Vietnamese-American adoptees returning to their homeland for the first time since the fall of Saigon in 1975. Micah’s three-part series on the emotional homecoming earned him an Emmy nomination.
