Matt Klotz ( Full Name: Matthew James Klotz) is a popular American male deaf swimmer who appeared on the 25th season of Big Brother and is the first deaf/hard of hearing contestant in the show’s history. He represents the United States at the Deaflympics and other international events such as the Deaf World Championships.
Matt is a world record holder in swimming for the deaf and is considered one of the finest deaf swimmers to represent the USA following the retirements of Marcus Titus and Reed Gershwind. Matt initially started swimming as a young boy growing up. As a teenager, Matt competed in the 2013 Summer Deaflympics. Matt now holds world records for the men’s 50m backstroke and 50m freestyle events for Deaflympics swimmers. He has also received eight gold medals during his professional career.

In December 2018, Matt was awarded the ICSD Deaf Sportsman of the Year by International Committee of Sports for the Deaf due to his outstanding performances at deaf sporting events including the world records that he set in both 50m backstroke and 50m freestyle events.
