He kicked off his career as a journalist in March 2008, when he was hired at WEEI-AM as a co-host of “Big Show.” On May 27, 2008, Lou was hired as a commentator on the Red Sox pre-game and post-game shows which aired on the New England Sports Network (NESN).
A year later he left the station and joined Comcast SportsNet New England as an analyst and reporter. Later on February 28, 2011, MerloniLou began co-hosting started co-hosting Mut and Merloni, a show on the WEEI network alongside Mike Mutnansky. Three years later, he was teamed up with Christian Fauria and Tim Benz and together they hosted “Midday’s with MFB” in Pittsburg.
