Linda Mills ( Full Name: Linda G. Mills) is a popular American social worker and academic administrator who has worked as the 17th president of New York University since July 1, 2023. In addition, Linda is also the Lisa Ellen Goldberg Professor of Social Work, Public Policy, and Law and the Executive Director of the NYU Center on Violence and Recovery. Previously, Linda worked as NYU’s Vice Chancellor and Senior Vice Provost for Global Programs and University Life from 2012 until 2023. In 2002, Linda was named Vice Provost (and in 2006 Senior Vice Provost) for Undergraduate Education and University Life.
Her principal areas of scholarly focus are trauma, bias, and domestic violence. Linda has written articles for publications such as Harvard Law Review, Cornell Law Review, Journal of Experimental Criminology, and Nature: Human Behavior, among others.
