In addition, in 1994 he was inducted into the Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia Hall of Fame.

Larry Kane KYW-TV
His broadcast journalism career kicked off at WQAM at the age of 16. Larry later moved to WAME where he was the first U.S. news correspondent to break the story of the Bay of Pigs invasion of Cuba in 1961 and also worked at WFUN. Moreover, in 1965 he served as an anchor for WFIL Radio and as the main anchor for its sister station WFIL-TV in Philadelphia. WFIL-TV was changed to WPVI-TV and Larry worked at the station until 1977.
Further, he joined WABC-TV and would take daily limousine trips to New York City. At the station, he worked as the anchor of WABC-TV’s Eyewitness News for one year from 1977. Larry later joined WCAU-TV, then a CBS-owned station in 1978 as Channel 10 News primary anchor for 6 pm and 11 pm newscasts. After spending 15 years at the station, he moved to KYW-TV, an NBC affiliate in 1993 as an anchor and host of 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscasts leaving the station on December 23, 2002.
Larry hosted local Philadelphia politics through public affairs programs at KYW-TV. He currently serves as a special contributor for Entercom KYW News radio. In 1994 he was placed into the Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia Hall of Fame. Apart from working as a journalist, he participates in a number of charity foundations.
