Kristin Chenoweth (Born: Kristi Dawn Chenoweth) is a popular American actress and singer, who has credits in musical theatre, film, and television. In 1999, Kristin received a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for her role as Sally Brown in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown on Broadway.
In 2003, Kristin won a second Tony Award nomination for originating the role of Glinda in the musical Wicked. Kristin’s television roles are as Annabeth Schott in NBC’s The West Wing and as Olive Snook on the ABC comedy-drama Pushing Daisies, for which she received a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series in 2009.
Kristin also appeared in the ABC TV series GCB in 2012, portrayed Lavinia in Trial & Error in 2018, and became the antagonist, Mildred Layton, in the Apple TV+ musical comedy Schmigadoon! in 2021. She sang gospel music as a child in Oklahoma and learned opera prior to deciding to pursue a career in musical theatre. Kristin has also starred in five City Center Encores!, Off-Broadway, and regional theatre productions.
She had her own sitcom, Kristin, in 2001, and has guest-starred on several shows, such as Sesame Street and Glee, for which Kristin became nominated for Emmy Awards in 2010 and 2011.
