Keith Russell is an American journalist. He currently serves as a Morning News Anchor at KTVT CBS11 Dalla. Keith has been a sports anchor and reporter for CBS11 KTVT since joining in 2015. Keith’s lifelong passion for covering sports has taken him on a journey of almost three decades. His journalism career has featured stops everywhere from Mississippi to ESPN.
When he joined CBS11 in 2015, Keith started his mission of telling positive community stories that focus on providing inspiration and hope, overcoming adversity, and stories that transcend gender, age, and race. Keith has done countless stories and interviews as part of the official Cowboys station. He has been on and off the field during the regular season, off-season, and also training camp with Cowboys players, personnel, and fans.
Apart from the Cowboys Gameday Pre-Game show every Sunday morning, Keith fans catch his post-game reports from every cowboy home game and road game. He is proud to be a part of the DFW and North Texas landscape. Despite being born in Philadelphia, Keith got into Dalla as quickly as he could.

He started working for CBS 11 in March 2015 after his resignation from WTXF Philadelphia. In WTXF, he was the host of Eagles’ shows 2014 season. Previously, Keith was the primary sports anchor at WPVI in Philadelphia for 7 years, from 2005 to 2012. In WPVI, he hosted a live high school football show every day of the week. Additionally, he anchored wall-to-wall coverage of live events .e.g the Philadelphia Phillies’ World Series Championship back in 2008.
Before joining WPVI, Keith was an anchor at ESPN for more than five years. He had stopped as a sportscaster at CNN/HLN and a news anchor in Washington, D.C. at some points. Keith is a movie lover and most probably that’s how he spends his leisure time. His social media page has a lot of impressive information about his causes and volunteer work.
Keith was named by Philly Magazine as one of the Top Ten Best Dressed Philadelphia in December 2011. Keith has some experience working with ESPN and CNN networks, as well as a news-anchoring gig at WRC in Washington D.C. Working in Philadelphia has always been his dream. His dream of being a sportscaster started in West Oak Lane. When there were openings at Action News from Philadelphia, He knew that was his job. Keith believes that there is no one better fit for that job than him.
He left ESPN because it was not making sense to be in the same family as Action News and ESPN are both owned by Disney. Once he got the go-ahead, Keith knew that he was entering into a perfect situation. As much as he wanted to get to the next level of ESPN, not getting there was a blessing because if he did, he would have not gotten the opportunity to work in Philadelphia.
