Josh Tyrangiel is an American renowned media personality. Previously, he served as the deputy managing editor of TIME magazine as well as the editor at Bloomberg Businessweek. Josh left the network in June 2019 after the cancellation of Vice News Tonight. The journalist was named to The New York Observer’s list of top insurgents in 2009. 

In 2012,  Ad Age named the journalist the editor of the year. In addition, he has been included on Crain’s New York Business 40 under 40 lists. Josh was called on in  November 2013 to help shape tv content for Bloomberg Television. In August 2014,  he assumed the role of overseeing all content on Bloomberg’s media platforms.

Josh stepped down as editor of Bloomberg Businessweek in October 2015. In the same year, he started negotiations to join Vice by meeting with the program’s head Shane Smith. He ran the company’s digital news desk as the Senior Vice President of news. In  October 2016, Josh spearheaded the launch of Vice News Tonight.

The journalist was included on the ninth annual list of The Hollywood Reporter of New York’s 35 Most Powerful People in Media in April 2019. During an interview,  Josh revealed that he was working on new projects that played to Vice’s strengths. However, in June 2019, Josh and Vice News CEO called Nancy Dubuc released statements announcing the journalist’s departure from Vice at the conclusion of the summer.
