In 2023, Josh led a group that bought the Washington Commanders of the National Football League (NFL) for $6.05 billion, the most ever for a sports team. Josh began working for the previous investment bank Drexel Burnham Lambert prior to leaving to earn an MBA from Harvard Business School.
After graduating in 1990, Josh co-founded the private equity firm Apollo Global Management with retired Drexel associates Leon Black and Marc Rowan, where he oversaw its daily operations until his departure in 2022 to concentrate on sports management and charitable efforts.
