John Robins ( Full name: John Michael David Robins) is an English stand-up comedian, podcaster, and presenter. In May 2014, John performed in New Zealand for the first time with the show Where Is My Mind? during the NZ International Comedy Festival. At the 2015 Chortle Awards, he won Best Compère. John embarked on a touring show in the second half of 2016 with co-host Elis James titled “The Elis James and John Robins Experience”.
James and John won a Chortle award for their Radio X show in March 2017. In addition to all that, John, starting with Skinny Love performed a solo show at the Edinburgh Festival every year between 2009 and 2015. His subsequent shows were included 2010 Nomadic Revery, 2011 Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven, 2012 Incredible Scenes, 2013 Where Is My Mind?, 2014 This Tornado Loves You, and 2015 Speakeasy. All his shows were also toured around the UK.
John performed at the Machynlleth Comedy Festival and the Leicester Comedy Festival as well. He won the Edinburgh Comedy Award jointly with Hannah Gadsby in August 2017 for The Darkness of Robins which was his show that year focusing on the breakdown of his relationship with comedian Sara Pascoe as well as his personal life after the break-up. He won the award for the first time he had been nominated for the same. Later, the show was filmed by the BBC and eventually made available to watch on Netflix. John went back to Edinburgh in 2019 with the show Hot Shame.
