John Harwood is an American journalist. He currently serves as a White House Correspondent for CNN. Formerly, the journalist served as an editor-at-large for CNBC. He also worked as the chief Washington Correspondent for CNBC as well as a contributor for The New York Times. John wrote a weekly column called “The Caucus” about Washington politics and policy that appeared on Monday. Prior to joining the Times, the journalist wrote for The Wall Street Journal.
Following his college graduation, John became part of the St. Petersburg Times in Florida where he worked in Tampa Bay, Tallahassee, and also Washington. He went to South Africa to cover developments in the final years of apartheid. From 1989 to 1990, John was Nieman Fellow at Harvard University. In 1991, he became the White House correspondent for the Wall Street Journal with a role of covering the George H. W. Bush administration.
