Jim Verraros ( Real name: James Conrad Verraros ) is an American actor, singer, and songwriter. He placed ninth on the first season of American Idol. Because he was born and raised by deaf parents, Jim is fluent in American Sign Language. He gained notoriety on American Idol due to his ability in signing the lyrics to his audition song. After competing in the series, Jim released three pop-rock dance albums where Gabe Lopez was the music producer and songwriter.
In 2002 and 2006, Out magazine named Jim on its “Most Intriguing People” list. Throughout his music career, he performed at so many pride events and toured at gay clubs. Jim released his official debut album titled Rollercoaster via independent label Koch Records in 2005. The album was accompanied by two singles that received generally positive reviews.
