Jim Fitterling (Full Name: James Ray Fitterling) is a popular American business executive who is the Chairman and CEO of Dow Inc. He works as vice chair of the National Association of Manufacturers and is on the boards of the American Chemistry Council and the U.S.-China Business Council. The first board-named CEO of a Fortune 100 company; Jim was ranked the globe’s top LGBT executive by the Financial Times in 2018.
Prior to becoming CEO, Jim worked as president and chief operating officer of Dow. From September 2017 until March 2019, he also worked as chief operating officer for the Materials Science Division of DowDuPont, an $86 billion holding company comprised of The Dow Chemical Company and DuPont, formed with the intent to form independent, publicly traded companies in materials science, agriculture as well as specialty products sectors. He started overseeing OPTIMAL’s regions in Southeast Asia and Australia in 2004. In 2005, Jim left OPTIMAL Group to become business vice president of polyethylene at Dow Chemical Corporation.
