Jim Belushi (full name is James Adam Belushi) is a popular American musician, comedian, and actor. He is best recognized for his role as James “Jim” Orenthal on the sitcom According to Jim (2001–2009).
His other notable appearances are on Saturday Night Live (1983–1985), Twin Peaks (2017), and Total Security (1997). Additionally, he has made appearances in films such as The Palermo Connection (1990), Destiny Turns on the Radio (1995), Thief (1981), The Man with One Red Shoe (1985), Little Shop of Horrors (1986), and The Wild (2006).
As a voice actor, Jim has voiced animated sitcoms such as Babes in Toyland (1997), My Neighbors the Yamadas (2005), Snow Buddies (2008), Legends of Oz: Dorothy’s Return (2013), Where on Earth Is Carmen Sandiego? (1994), and The Tick (1996) among others.
Jim kicked off his career by working at the Chicago theater group The Second City where his older brother John used to work. While working at the theatre he made his television debut in the 1978’s Who’s Watching the Kids. After the death of his older brother John he appeared on Saturday Night Live, where he portrayed various characters such as Hank Rippy from “Hello, Trudy!”, Man on the Street Jesse Donnelly, and “That White Guy”.
