Jeff Stein is an American journalist, correspondent, and author. He serves as the editor-in-chief of SpyTalk, a newsletter covering U.S. defense and foreign policy, intelligence, on the Substack platform. Previously, Jeff worked as the SpyTalk columnist and national security correspondent at Newsweek. Prior to that, he was the SpyTalk blogger at The Washington Post.
From 2002 to 2009, Jeff served as the founding editor of CQ/Homeland Security, and later national security editor at Congressional Quarterly, where he first launched his SpyTalk column. He has also made numerous television and radio appearances.
