Jeff Immelt ( Full Name: Jeffrey Robert Immelt) is a popular American business executive who works as a venture partner at New Enterprise Associates. He joined NEA in 2018. Jeff is the author of HOT SEAT, a memoir of leadership in times of crisis. Before joining NEA Jeff worked as the CEO of General Electric from 2001 until 2017, and the CEO of GE’s Medical Systems division from 1997 until 2000.
His tenure saw GE’s largest divestments in the company’s history, as the company sold almost two-thirds of its subsidiaries and assets. He became a board member of Tuya Smart in September 2019. Jeff attended the Consumer Electronics Show in 2020 on behalf of Tuya Smart. On June 30, 2020, Jeff was announced as an advisor to Built Robotics. Jeff joined Eric Sellman, Vice President of Civil at Mortenson, in the role. He worked as chairman of The Business Council from 2005 through 2006.
Jeff was appointed to the President’s Economic Recovery Advisory Board in 2009 and appointed chairman in 2011.
