In 2016, Hornacek was fired as head coach of the Phoenix Suns and appointed as head coach of the New York Knicks. His first season was promising, but malcontent led to a 31-51 record. He was a complementary “third option” to John Stockton and Karl Malone like in the Phoenix Suns. In 1997 and 1998, Jeff was an instrumental part of the Jazz’s drive to the NBA Finals where the Jazz lost to the Chicago Bulls both times. Until knee problems forced his retirement in 2000, he remained with the Jazz.
It was unveiled that Jeff has no left meniscus due to wear and tear on his body.
