Jacob Rees Mogg is an English politician. He became appointed Minister of State for Brexit Opportunities and Government Efficiency in the Cabinet of Prime Minister Boris Johnson in 2022. Jacob previously served as Leader of the House of Commons and Lord President of the Council from 2019 to 2022.
He was elected Member of Parliament (MP) for North East Somerset in 2010, 2015, 2017, and 2019. Jacob is a socially conservative member of the Conservative Party. He has been praised as a conviction politician whose anachronistic upper-class mannerisms and consciously traditionalist attitudes are often seen as entertaining. Critics view Jacob as a reactionary figure.
