Together with Tim Heidecker, Gregg also stars as a fictionalized version of himself on the comedic web series On Cinema (2011–).
Additionally, Gregg formed one-half of the band Zip Code Rapists and has collaborated on many projects with musicians like Trey Spruance (Mr. Bungle, Secret Chiefs 3). In the 1990s, Gregg ran an independent label, Amarillo Records, which distributed his original albums and albums of other artists from the San Francisco punk scene.
Gregg starred as a variant of the Neil Hamburger character in 2015 for the feature-length drama film Entertainment, directed by Rick Alverson, and subsequently gave his first interviews as himself instead of an assumed persona.
