On December 30, 2021, Frank got wasted in his apartment and later decided to drive to Taco Bell which was two and a half blocks from where he lived. In his attempt to drive while intoxicated, he hit a car that was going roughly 8 to 12 mph and later stopped at a light. Following the impact, the driver got out of his car and Frank carried on driving his black Porsche hitting yet another car, an Audi sedan ramming it into a pole. The Audi was completely destroyed and the driver was a bit injured.
As a result of the crash, Frank was arrested for driving while intoxicated on December 30, 2021. In addition, he had been suspended by KTVU in September 2021 after the issue of Gabby Petito coverage. The station had not contacted him even in November 2021. Following his December incident in 2021, KTVU did not renew his contract after it expired in January 2022. Presently, Frank is serving three years of court probation until August 2025.
