F Murray Abraham is a popular American actor known due to his work in film, television, and theatre. He rose to fame due to his acclaimed leading role as Antonio Salieri in the drama film Amadeus in 1984 for which Murray received the Academy Award for Best Actor and the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Drama and a BAFTA Award nomination.
He made his Broadway premiere in the 1968 play Man in the Glass Booth. Murray won the Obie Award for Outstanding Performance due to his roles in Anton Chekhov’s Uncle Vanya in 1984 and William Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice in 2011.
