Elisha Cuthbert ( Full name: Elisha Ann Cuthbert Phaneuf ) is a Canadian actress and model. As a child, Elisha made her first televised appearance as an extra in the Canadian horror-themed series for children Are You Afraid of the Dark? Also, she co-hosted Popular Mechanics for Kids. Elisha made her feature film debut in the 1997 Canadian family drama Dancing on the Moon. She got her first major lead role in the 1998 drama film Airspeed (No Control) alongside Joe Mantegna.
Elisha starred in the movie Lucky Girl in 2001 for which she received her first award, the Gemini Award. She moved to Hollywood in the same year and was cast as Kim Bauer in the series 24 alongside Kiefer Sutherland. This was her first big role in an American production.
