Doug Meehan is an American journalist. He currently works for NewsCenter 5 as their co-anchor of the weekday morning EyeOpener newscasts. Prior to his current role, Doug served as the station’s co-anchor of weekend EyeOpener newscasts.

He joined WCVB in December of 2015 after leaving KPNX-TV based in Phoenix, AZ. While there, Doud served as a news anchor for almost three years. In 2006, Doug was honored by Boston Magazine as one of Boston’s “The Fabulous 40,”. He completed the 110th running of the Boston Marathon in the same year. He shares his birthday with  Bob Hope and President John F Kennedy.

Prior to joining WFXT-TV, Doug worked for Boston’s WHDH-TV as their reporter as well as relief anchor. Before that, he served as an anchor and host of “Good Morning Texas” at WFAA-TV  based in Dallas, TX for six years. Doug also worked as a reporter at KTVT-TV based in Dallas as well as an anchor at WTSP-TV, Tampa, FL. He as well worked for KEYE-TV based in Austin, TX.
