Digby ( Full name: Heather Digby Parton) is an American political blogger from Santa Monica, California. She is the founder of a blog called Hullabaloo. Heather has been called one of the “leading and most admired commentators” of the liberal/progressive blogosphere. She started her career by serving as a commenter on the blogs of Bartcop and Atrios.
On January 1, 2003, Heather launched her own blog calling it Hullabaloo “because one function of blogs is to cause a ruckus.” Initially, she had kept her identity secret. It was widely assumed that Digby was male until 2007 when she made an appearance at the CAF conference to accept the award. Since then, Heather has written regularly at Salon under her given name of Heather Digby Parton. In 2014, she won the Hillman Prize for Opinion and Analysis Journalism.
