DeAngelo Hall (full name: DeAngelo Eugene Hall) is a former American football defensive back player. He has played 14 seasons in the National Football League. Hall played college football for Virginia Tech and was later on drafted by the Atlanta Falcons eighth overall in the 2004 NFL Draft. He played half a season for the Oakland Raiders before being traded to the Washington Redskins in 2008, where he played until his retirement following the 2017 season. For most of his career as a football player, he was a cornerback before playing at free safety for his final few seasons.
During his career as a football player, Hall has been invited to three Pro Bowls, two of which were with the Falcons and one with the Redskins. Hall tied an NFL record by recording four interceptions in a game against the Chicago Bears in 2010. Additionally, he holds the NFL record for most fumble return yardage in a career while his five career fumble return touchdowns rank second behind Jason Taylor.
He has also received the 2011 Pro Bowl MVP title. After his retirement from playing football, Hall has also worked as an on-air football analyst for several networks and programs including Fox Sports 1 and NBC Sports Washington. He currently works as an in-studio analyst on various NFL Network shows such as NFL Total Access and Good Morning Football, as well as on NFL Network’s on-location coverage of such events as the Super Bowl.
