David Urban is an American political operative and lobbyist. He currently serves as a political commentator for CNN and Executive Vice President for North American corporate affairs at ByteDance. Previously, David served as a senior advisor to the 2016 Donald Trump presidential campaign.
He also helped orchestrate the 2016 Republican National Convention in a successful effort to win Pennsylvania. David was appointed by President Trump to the board of the American Battle Monuments Commission in May 2018. Trump then elevated him to Chairman of ABMC in July 2018. In 2020, David advised Trump’s 2020 re-election campaign.
Trump appointed David to the United States Military Academy Board of Visitors in August 2019. However, in September 2021, David was removed by President Biden as part of the removal of Trump-appointed members of the Service Academy Visitors Boards who Biden considered unqualified for such positions.
