Danielle Belton is an American journalist and editor. Currently, she serves as the editor-in-chief of HuffPost. Previously, she worked at The Root where she joined in 2015 and became its youngest managing editor before being appointed its first editor-in-chief. She left The Root in April 2021 to become editor of HuffPost.
Danielle commenced her journalism career with The Bakersfield Californian, a local newspaper in Bakersfield, California. In 2007 she began the Black Snob, an award-winning blog. In 2011 she worked on developing a television show for BET called Don’t Sleep, hosted by T. J. Holmes, and became its head writer. However, the show was canceled after 8 months and nominated for an NAACP Image Award in 2013.
