Daniel Wallace is an American author. He became famous after publishing his novel titled Big Fish: A Novel of Mythic Proportions in 1998. Daniel has authored other books such as Ray in Reverse and The Watermelon King. Also, his stories have been published in various anthologies and magazines such as The Year’s Best Fantasy and Horror.
While growing up, Daniel loved the science fiction novel Dune written by Frank Herbert. He lists his favorite writers like Kurt Vonnegut, Italo Calvino, Vladimir Nabokov, Franz Kafka, and William Faulkner. Also, Daniel loves the novels Mrs. Bridge and Mr. Bridge by Evan S. Connell. In 2019, he won the Harper Lee Award for Alabama’s Distinguished Writer of the Year.
