Craig Groeschel is an American pastor and author. He is the founder as well as the senior pastor of an American evangelical multi-site church called Life.Church locations in 10 U.S. states. In 1996, Craig and a group of people launched Life Covenant Church in a two-car garage. He started the process by carrying out market research on non-churchgoers and later designed his church in response to what he learned.
His non-traditional style was however successful and attendance at Life Covenant Church grew rapidly. By January 2019, the church was the largest Protestant church in the United States with 32 campuses. Due to the large population, Craig started using video to deliver some of his sermons. After the birth of his fourth kid in 2001, he became unavailable for the Sunday service, he found out that the videos were popular with his churchgoers. In 2006, he launched a website called Mysecret.tv for people to confess anonymously on the Internet.

The church was founded by Craig and is the current senior pastor. The church is well known for its YouVersion ministry, which publishes the Bible App. Life Church was founded as Life Covenant Church in Oklahoma City in January 1996. Initially, it had only 40 congregants meeting together in a two-car garage.
However, from 1996 to 1999, the church congregants grew rapidly and the first facility was built ( currently known as the “Oklahoma City Campus”). In 2001, a 25-year-old, nondenominational church called MetroChurch, in nearby Edmond, Oklahoma joined the Life Church, and made it a multi-site church. With this merger, both churches changed their names to come up with one name for the newly formed church. Their staffs were also combined under the leadership of Craig as the lead pastor.
