A nominee of then-President Donald Trump, Christopher was confirmed by the Senate in December 2020, to work until January 2030. Before that, Christopher worked as Executive Vice President and Research Director at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.
Prior to that, he held the Gilbert Schaefer Chair of Economics at the University of Notre Dame and the Carol Martin Gatton Chair in Macroeconomics as well as Monetary Theory at the University of Kentucky.
