Chris Webber ( Full name: Mayce Edward Christopher Webber III ) is a retired American professional basketball player and former sportscaster. He is a 5-time All-NBA Team member, a 5-time NBA All-Star, former number one overall NBA draftee for the Golden State Warriors, and a former NBA Rookie of the Year. Chris also played for various teams such as Detroit Pistons, Philadelphia 76ers, Sacramento Kings, and the Washington Bullets.
Chris was a first-team All-American as a collegiate athlete who led the Michigan Wolverines’ 1991 incoming freshman class called the Fab Five. As freshmen and sophomores, the class reached the 1992 and 1993 NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball Championship games. However, Chris was indicted by a federal grand jury. As a result of his direct involvement in the Ed Martin scandal, he was stripped of his All-American honors by the NCAA.
