Blxst ( Full name: Matthew Burdette) is an American record producer, songwriter, rapper, and singer who originate from Los Angeles, California. He kicked off his music career with a hip-hop collective named TIU Muzic. From there, Blxst gained experience in the music industry and gathered a local following. He founded his label Evgle in 2015 and became a creative director for his graphic design as well as music videos.
In 2014, Blxst produced his remix “Do Yo Gudda (Remix)” by Hitta J3. The song featured Kendrick Lamar, YG, and Problem. He released his first song titled “Who Would’ve Thought” in 2016. In 2019, Blxst released his first solo hit single “Hurt”, with millions of streams. He released a collaboration EP with Bino Rideaux called Sixtape on August 28, 2019.
In 2020, Red Bull Records partnered with Evgle for the release of his debut EP titled No Love Lost which was released on September 4, 2020, featuring singles “Overrated”, “No Love Lost”, as well as “Be Alone”. On the Billboard Heatseekers chart, the EP peaked at number 3. On December 4, The deluxe edition was released and it featured Ty Dolla Sign, Tyga, Dom Kennedy, and Bino Rideaux.
Blxst released a two-track EP called Just for Clarity on March 12, 2021, including “Don’t Forget” featuring Drakeo the Ruler as well as “Fck Boys” featuring Russ. In the same year, he was listed on the annual XXL Freshman Class. On July 16, 2021, Blxst released Sixtape 2 with Bino Rideaux.
