Bim Adewunmi is a British writer and journalist who now serves as a producer for an American weekly hour-long radio program called This American Life which is produced in collaboration with Chicago Public Media and Ira Glass serves as its host. Previously, she served as a culture writer for an American Internet media, news, and entertainment company called BuzzFeed as well as a British daily newspaper called The Guardian.
Also, Bim co-hosted a podcast about celebrity lust and sexual desire called Thirst Aid Kit from 2017 to 2020 along with an American poet, writer, and podcaster called Nichole Perkins. Bim’s debut play Hoard premiered at Arcola Theatre in May 2019. It a comedy about the relationship between an eccentric mother, who is a hoarder, and her daughters. The play centers on the Bakares, a Nigerian-British family who live in East London.

The play was given four stars out of five in the Morning Star newspaper by Peter Mason describing it as “a very good debut.”However, Arifa Akbar declared that “…the hoarding theme ends up feeling confected and simply not dramatic enough to warrant the emotional ruptures it creates” in a three-star review for The Guardian. Rosemary Waugh, writing for Time Out London, rated the play three out of five stars.
