Benedict Allen (Full Name: Benedict Colin Allen) is a popular English writer, explorer, traveller, and filmmaker noted for his technique of immersion among indigenous peoples from whom he acquires survival skills for hazardous journeys via unfamiliar terrain. However, on 17 November Benedict was extracted by the Daily Mail newspaper, and taken to hospital with suspected malaria and dengue fever.
