Annie Laurie Gaylor is an American author, women’s rights activist, secular, and atheist. She and her husband Dan Barker co-founded a current co-president of the Freedom From Religion Foundation. EERF was founded by Annie, her mother Anne Nicol Gaylor, and the late John Sontarck in a meeting around the Gaylors’ dining room table in 1978.
Annie has worked tirelessly to make the FFRF the largest organization of atheists and agnostics in the USA. Previously, Annie served as the editor of the organization’s newspaper called Freethought Today (published ten times per year). She worked there until 2015. As an author, Annie has published several books, including Betrayal of Trust: Clergy Abuse of Children, Woe to the Women: The Bible Tells Me So. She served as an editor of Women Without Superstition: No Gods – No Masters.
