Andrew Lam is a Vietnamese American journalist and writer popularly recognized for his essays about the Overseas Vietnamese experience. As a journalist, he serves as a web editor at New America Media, a regular contributor of National Public Radio’s All Things Considered, and lastly a regular writer on Huffington Post.
His 2005 book titled Perfume Dreams won him the 2006 PEN/Beyond Margins Award. Lam has published books such as Perfume Dreams (2005), and East Eats West (2010) among others. From 2001 to 2002 Lam was at Stanford University as John S. Knight Journalism Fellow.
