Alan Brazil (Full name: Alan Bernard Brazil ) is a Scottish broadcaster and former football player. He currently serves as he host of TalkSPORT Breakfast Show. Alan is most notable for playing for teams such as Ipswich Town, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, and internationally for Scotland. Alan played as a forward prior to being forced to retire due to a recurring back injury.
He started his media presentation career, initially on television, and later moved over to radio where he has now been a presenter on Talksport for many years. He published a book co-written with Mike Parry in 2006 titled There’s an Awful Lot of Bubbly in Brazil. In 2007, he published his second book titled Both Barrels from Brazil: My War Against the Numpties, again co-written with Parry.

Alan joined radio station Talk Radio in the late 1990s to present evening sports programming, “It’s Just Like Watching Brazil”. After the station became Talk Sport in early 2000, Alan became co-presenter on the weekday 6 – 10 am program. Since then, the show has been renamed the ‘Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast. He has had different co-presenters over the years such as Mike Parry, Graham Beecroft, and Ronnie Irani.
Irani left the show in 2013, since then, there has been a variety of co-presenters starting with Matt Holland, then Ray Parlour, followed by David Ginola, then Dominic Cork, Neil Warnock, and finally Brian Moore. The station apologized on behalf of Alan for the offense caused and said it did not agree with his opinion. From April 2020, Alan’s role at Talksport was altered with him hosting Talksport Breakfast two days a week on Thursdays and Fridays. Laura Woods became the host of the show from Monday to Wednesday. A statement from the station stressed that Alan’s role at Talksport would be ‘expanded’.

I had a little sort out of the old ticker and I’m pleased to say I’m on the mend. Hopefully, I’ll be back on the radio Thursday or Friday.” In October 2020, Alan spoke in an interview with the Scottish Sun where he said: “I love a drink but I know when enough is enough.”
