Sebastian Gorka ( Full name: Sebastian Lukács Gorka/Hungarian: Gorka Sebestyén Lukács) is a British-born Hungarian-American media personality, and military & intelligence analyst. He currently works with Salem Radio. Formerly, Sebastian worked with Fox News.
Sebastian is a former government official who served as a Deputy Assistant to the President in the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump from January 2017 until August 25, 2017. In 2012, he became a naturalized American citizen. Sebastian has written for different publications, he is a politically conservative and has ties to the alt-right.
However, Sebastian rejects the term and has condemned the alt-right, calling it “bogus.” He argues that this term is “a new label for nationalists or irredentist bigots”. Sebastian gave a series of combative interviews with the press during his time in the Trump administration. In this interview, he defended the administration’s positions on national security as well as foreign policy.
Different national security scholars in both academic and policymaking circles characterized Sebastian as a fringe. Also, some critics have challenged Sebastian’s academic credentials and his motives for identifying with the Order of Vitéz or supporting the EU-banned Hungarian Guard. They have criticized his views on Islam and radicalization.
