Dan Satterfield is an American registered meteorologist. He currently works as the Chief Meteorologist for WBOC -TV ( CBS affiliate) in Salisbury Maryland. He is also the acting Chairman of the AMS Committee. In January 2010, they gave him the honor to be the guest of the “National Science Foundation” on a tour in Antarctica.

On Jan. 11, 2012, Dan became among the first people who stood at the South Pole. Seven months down the line, he spent two weeks at the top-most part of the Greenland ice sheet. Here, the scientists were recovering an ice core that was believed brought about climate change. Dan’s professional is forecasting the weather, but his passion is sharing the wonders of nature, of all the Earth sciences with science students.
