Jeremy Paxman ( Full name: Jeremy Dickson Paxman) is an English television presenter, broadcaster, author, and journalist. He became part of the BBC in 1972, initially working at BBC Radio Brighton although Jeremy relocated to London in 1977. Jeremy worked on Tonight and Panorama in coming years prior to becoming a newsreader for the BBC Six O’Clock News.
He later became a presenter on Breakfast Time. Jeremy became a presenter for the BBC Two programme Newsnight in 1989. During his time there, he interviewed a wide range of political figures. His forthright and abrasive interviewing style gave his such fame particularly when interrogating politicians.
His appearances were sometimes criticised as intimidating, aggressive, and condescending. At the same time, they were applauded as tough and incisive. Jeremy left Newsnight in 2014 after 25 years as its presenter and has since then done occasional work for Channel 4 News. The journalist has been the presenter of University Challenge since its revival in 1994.
